Last Boat In

Desert Wind, a Newport 30 Mk II, was the last boat to complete the 50-mile race of this year's Sunrise Regatta, finishing just a few seconds before 3:00 a.m. the morning of Sunday, September 14, 2008. The Sunrise Regatta had four 50-mile boats, six 25-mile boats, and eight 10-mile boats. In addition, the Rio Grande Sailing Club hosted members of the Coronado Optimist Sailing Club for a junior Laser regatta, and treated Venture Scouts from El Paso's Yucca Council to sailboat orientation rides.
