Last sail of 2009, New Year's Eve at Elephant Butte Lake

When Carol Anne, Gerald, and I took Black Magic out to meet "Zorro", who was sailing Constellation out on the lake, we still had the lake to ourselves for the last hours of daylight on New Year's eve 2009. The two Etchells sloops were the last boats out on the water this year, and probably were the last boats sailing anywhere in the state at year's end. Conditions were actually nice with decent wind some of the time, though the breezes were quite light at other times. In other words, we enjoyed typical mountain lake weather, if such a thing exists.
