View from the committee boat
Black Magic, at right, has tacked to starboard and will cross the port-tackers during the early part of the Marina Cup Challenge race.
Black Magic leads the downwind parade on a beautiful winter day at Elephant Butte Lake in southern New Mexico. Carol Anne helms with Zorro and Twinkletoes as crew. Pat enjoyed a good look from the committee boat.

So did she win?
Sure enough she did, by about 12 to 13 minutes ahead of her rival in the slow-moving race. (One of the smaller boats, by the way, was sailed very well and would have come in only a couple of minutes behind Carol Anne had they been racing on corrected time.) Of course, Carol Anne had good crew on board; I was safely running the committee boat.
