New Year's Eve in Clear Lake, Remedy and friends

As the last evening of 2005 falls upon Clear Lake, Ed & Marion's "Remedy" is flanked by her consorts gathering to await a fireworks spectacular. Remedy had to arrive early to anchor the raftup in order to beat the tide; strong spring tides left water levels unusually low during the afternoon and evening and Clear Lake is shallow under the best of conditions. Conditions became a bit foggy later that night. Members of Remedy's group, the Texas Mariners Cruising Assn., had many choices of activities for the evening, including the raftup shown above, a progressive potluck, and an on-shore party. Clear Lake is in the center of the Houston - Galveston area, which is said to contain the third-largest concentration of pleasure boats in the United States.
