Frank's Place, V: Kiva

Corner detail

The Kiva, named after ceremonial southwestern Native American structures that are frequently built below ground, was built as a meeting room and can be used as a classroom. It's roof was an experiment with the masonry supported by steel mesh wiring pre-tensioned by the slight outward slope of the walls.
