Sunrise Regatta II, September 18, 2005, at Elephant Butte Lake State Park in south-central New Mexico. When full, the lake holds 2,000,000 acre feet of water and has 40,000 surface acres. The lake is home to the Rio Grande Sailing Club, which hosts a year-round schedule of regattas and other events, especially during fall and spring. 1934: Catalina 25 roars along in a strong breeze at the Sunrise Regatta II at Elephant Butte Lake State Park, in the northern part of the near south of Monticello Point.
